Bret Maverick is a 1981-82 American Western tv show starring James Garner from the character that made him famous from the 1957 show Maverick: an skilled poker player traveling year after year through the Old West out of riverboat into saloon. In Sweetwater, Arizona Territory, where he owns a ranch and can be co-owner of the city's saloon, Maverick has settled down in this movie series. But, Maverick continues to be always watching for his next score, also continues to gamble and also exercise con matches whenever the opportunity arises. The show was developed by Gordon Dawson, also made by Garner's company Cherokee Productions in association with Warner Bros.. Television.
