Watercolour Challenge
Watercolour Challenge was a daytime tv program broadcast in the United Kingdom. This was shown on Channel 4 from 1998 to 2001 and led by Tim Conrad and had been presented by Hannah Gordon.
From the programme, three artists were given four weeks to paint, in water colour , the identical scene or landscape, usually with widely diverse interpretations. At the conclusion of the four weeks, the guest artist to its week selected the winner, who would subsequently appear in a regional final and judged the paintings, and if successful would compete in the ending of series final.
The guest artist had a section in which they provided hints to enhance their painting technique.
The locations of each and every landscape painted changed in each installment, with many parts of Great Britain and Ireland being visited, in addition to a series from Provence. The 2001 final happened in Tuscany.
Art judges comprised Mike Chaplin, the artists Jason Bowyer, Annette Kane, Hazel Soan, along with Jenny Wheatley. Timmy Mallett was a regional estimate for one episode of the series. There was A celebrity edition produced, including Bill Oddie and Phillip Franks. The series was presented by Cherie Lunghi if Hannah Gordon was unable to do so because of illness.
