Victoria Wood had been a series of six situation comedies starring Victoria Wood at 1989, that took a rest two years after her winning series Victoria Wood As Seen on television and written by. Wood appeared as"Victoria", a fictionalised version of himself, in all six episodes - at The Library it was said that she"worked at television" and in Over To Pam characters seemed to reevaluate her celebrity and also at the final episode, residing in, she was shot to an event to act as a comedienne and was likely to go throughout her stand-up'pattern'. Tired of the sketch format and also with a longing to recapture success as a playwright, Wood came up with six sit-coms. She admitted to finding the writing difficult. Though Wood was written as the personality, other lead roles were written with actresses in mind, like Una Stubbs and Julie Walters. "I want people to enjoy me and also the people who play my buddies, and never everybody else" she explained.
