Tugs

Tugs is a children's television show first broadcast in 1988. It was created by the manufacturers of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, Robert D. Cardona and David Mitton. The show dealt with the experiences of the Star Fleet 2 tugboat fleets and the Z-Stacks, that compete against eachother in the Bigg City Port. The show had been established in the Roaring Twenties, and was created by Tugs Ltd., for TVS and Clearwater Features Ltd.. Junior Campbell and Mike O'Donnell, who wrote the music for Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends written music. Beyond 1 3 episodes, the show failed to last production due to the bankruptcy of production company TVS. Following the airing of this show all through 1988, television rights were sold to an unknown party, while all sets and models from the show sold to Britt Allcroft. Modified set props and tugboat models were found in Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends from 1991 onwards, together with footage from the unique app. Mitton returned to working together with Thomas & Friends in 1991, while Cardona would go on to direct Theodore Tugboat, a similarly natured animated series place in Canada. All episodes of this show were published to VHS between 1993 and 1988.
