Treasure Island in Outer Space (Initial: Il Pianeta Del Tesoro - Treasure Planet) is a 1987 science fiction Italian and German television miniseries directed by Antonio Margheriti. It is dependant upon the book Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, putting the story in space on the calendar year 2300. The series was made by RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana at Co Production with West Germany and France, also directed by Anthony M. Dawson (Antonio Margheriti). It is Italian television's production. 5 incidents of 100 min's miniseries was originally aired on RAI Considering channel in November 1-9, 1987 in Italy. It was also adapted as a 120 minute film. The miniseries is also known as Space Island (UK and Norway, USA on VHS) and Der Schatz im All (Germany).
