The Second Coming

The Second Coming is a two-part British television play screened on ITV in the uk at February 2003. It concerns the realisation of Steve Baxter he is actually the Son of God, and has just a couple of days to locate the race Testament and thus avert the Apocalypse. It produced by the Independent Red Production Company, and had been composed by Russell T Davies. The plan was commissioned in 1999 by Channel 4 as four episodes. But when executives took over conducting the drama department they chose to not pursue the endeavor. Davies and Red's founder Nicola Shindler took the job to the BBC, who promptly turned down . It discovered a home on ITV, a station that'd gained a reputation for producing main stream, unchallenging,"middle of the road" drama in the past few years. Screened over two successive evenings at prime time on Monday and Sunday , 9 -- 10 February 2003, '' The Second Coming gained figures of over six million. Davies, who's an atheist, has said his aim was to provoke disagreement and get people interested in religion.
