The Paul Hogan Show
The Paul Hogan Show is a favorite Australian comedy series which aired on Australian television from 1973 until 1984. It made a star of Paul Hogan, that later emerged in"Crocodile" Dundee. Hogan's friend John Cornell also looked playing Hogan's dim flat mate Strop. The series also aired about the ny tristate area tv WWOR station 9, in early 1980s.
Episodes of this series generally opened with Hogan, playing a version of himself called'Hoges', introducing a mythical humor routine dressed up in his bridge rigger's costume of boots, shorts, and top with sleeves cut away. The series introduced with a series of comedy sketches, typically with Hogan in the character and playing various recurring characters, those include:
Leo Wanker: a daredevil stuntman.
George Fungus: a Takeoff of real-life tv writer George Negus of those 60minutes.
Super Dag: a ocker super-hero complete using terry-towelling hat and zinc-creamed nose. His abilities include his ability to make use of his esky in ways that are innovative.
Perce that the Wino: an older budding derro who starred at a string of Benny Hill-style, sketches.
Donger: variations of the character include the tough cop with a bionic beer-gut Sgt Donger, also Arthur Dunger, a part of those suburban Australian male.
