The Man and the Challenge

The Man and the task is a tv adventure/science fiction show which conducted new episodes on NBC in September 1-2, 1959, to June 11, 1960. It surfaced George Nader as Dr. Glenn Barton, a researcher to the Institute of Human aspects, a bureau that conducted experiments designed to measure human endurance to the United States government. The show was created by Ivan Tors. Nader's costars included the Canadian-born Joyce Meadows as Lynn Allen, Michael Experts as Bill Locke, Jack Ging as Dan Wright, and Michael Keith as Matt Adams. The episodes centered setting world records of endurance, strength, and mastery of skills that are difficult. The program featured appearances by Beth El Leslie as Eleanor Beck in"Early Warning", Ted Knight, as Dr. Herter from the event"Daredevils", and Raymond Bailey, in the role of Dr. Kramer Around the group opener"The Sphere of No Return". Joining Knight in that segment was Paul Burke.
