The Maias

Pedro da Maia, meets a beautiful woman called Maria Monforte with whom he has married despite his dad's refusal. The union produces Carlos Eduardo, a boy, and a daughter. Maria Monforte runs away to Italy with him , taking her daughter and falls with Tancredo inlove. He goes together with his son to his dad's house where he commits suicide, when Pedro discovers. Carlos is educated by him and stays at his grandfather's house. Carlos, becomes a physician and opens his office. Later he meets with Maria Eduarda, a gorgeous woman. The two fall in love also have heaps of nights. Finally Carlos discovers after that Maria lied to him and also he starts fearing the worst. In the long run, Carlos discovers that Maria is his sister. He advises her that they can not live like this and that they have been siblings. Carlos, to forget his tragedies, goes to get a trip across the world.
