The Johnny Cash Show
The Johnny Cash Show was. The Screen Stone 58-episode series conducted from June 7, 1969 to March 31, 1971 on ABC. It was taped in the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. The series reached No. 17 from the Nielsen ratings in 1970.
Every show was opened by cash, also its regulars comprised members of the Carter Family, June Carter Cash and his touring troupe, The Statler Brothers, Carl Perkins, and The Tennessee Three , with Australian-born musical director-arranger-conductor Bill Walker. The Statler Brothers performed comic interludes that were brief.
It featured many musicians, such as Mickey Newbury, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Kris Kristofferson, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Merle Haggard, James Taylor and Tammy Wynette. In addition, it featured musicians like jazz great Louis Armstrong, who died eight weeks later appearing on the series.
