The Dick Powell Show

The Dick Powell Show is an anthology show that ran on NBC in 1961- 1963, chiefly governed by the Reynolds Metals Company. Until the series ended, it was sponsored by film star Dick Powell by lung cancer on January 2, 1963 before his departure , then by a series of guest hosts. The very first of these was Gregory Peck, who began the January 8 program using a tribute to both Powell, recognizing him as"a great and great friend to our industry." Peck has been followed by fellow actors such as Robert Mitchum, Frank Sinatra, Glenn Ford, Charles Boyer, Jackie Cooper, Rock Hudson, Milton Berle, Jack Lemmon, Dean Martin, Robert Taylor, Steve McQueen, David Niven, Danny Thomas, Robert Wagner and John Wayne.
