The Armando Iannucci Shows
The Armando Iannucci Shows is a series of eight Programs Led by Armando Iannucci and written with Kevin Cecil and Andy Riley by Iannucci. It had been revealed on UK's Channel 4 from September to October 2001. Each incident focused on specific topics concerning individual nature and existentialism, around which Iannucci would weave a series of sketches and monologues.
Topics in the events would be the superficiality of contemporary civilization, our issues communicating with eachother, the everyday nature of life and feelings of personal inadequacy and social awkwardness. Several characters make repeat appearances in the shows, including the East End thug, who solves every problem with risks of violence. In what things were like at the previous days an older person who delivers surreal monologues, hugh. And Iannucci's barber, who is full of ridiculous anecdotes.
Iannucci was quoted as saying this could be the humor show he's proud of making. He told The Metro at April 2007"The Armando Iannucci Show [sic] on Channel 4 came out around 9/11, therefore it was overlooked for good reasons. People had anything else in their own heads. But that has been the closest to me expressing my comic outlook on life"
