Carl Matthews commutes into London by train where he works in a property management office under a boss who is currently pushing him to blow off a member of staff. He has a kind and supportive wife Maggie and 2 kids who he feels do not love him. He moans into a woman called Sally that she has brought his seat 1 morning. He later apologises to her and they begin chatting, there grows a relationship and she reveals that she is divorced but going to wed again, but moments with her fiancée suggest she is currently going cold on the idea. She works at a health club so that he is able to see more of her, and it is joined by Carl. They fall in love plus one evening when the train is not currently running they spend the evening together at a hotel. The drama's second portion deals with all the consequences of these own affair.
