Sapphire & Steel

Sapphire & Steel is a British television science fiction fantasy series starring David McCallum as both Steel and Joanna Lumley. Manufactured by ATV, it ran to the ITV network from 1979 to 1982. The series was created by Peter J. Hammond who guessed that the programme under the working title The Time Menders, after a stay in an supposedly haunted castle. Hammond wrote all of the stories except for the fifth, which was co-written from Don Houghton and also Anthony Read. Back in 2004, Steel and Sapphire returned in a series of audio dramas starring David Warner and Susannah Harker.
