Pie in the Sky is really just a British offbeat authorities humor play programme starring Richard Griffiths and Maggie Steed, produced by Andrew Payne and original broadcast in five series on BBC1 between 13 March 1994 and 17 August 1997 and being syndicated on other channels in other countries, for instance, Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The show departs slightly from authorities dramas in that the protagonist while being an on-duty policeman, can be the head chef of this name restaurant set at County of Westershire and the fictional town of Middleton.
