Lucas Tanner

Lucas Tanner can be. The title character, played with David Hartman, has been a baseball player and sportswriter who becomes an English teacher at the fictional Harry S Truman High School in Webster Groves, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Episodes deal with the resistance of traditional teachers to the unorthodox teaching mode of Tanner. Comprised Kimberly Beck Rosemary Murphy, also ten-year-old Robbie Rist. The series was actually filmed in Webster Groves, instead of on a Hollywood backlot. That gave it a somewhat unusual"look" for a primetime TV collection. A 90-minute pilot film of this show aired per week. The pilot starred Joe Garagiola and Kathleen Quinlan. The show has been Hartman television set within an actor--at November 1975, he began a stint.
