Law of the Plainsman

Law of the Plainsman is a Western tv show starring Michael Ansara which aired on the NBC television network before May 5, 1960. The Type of Native-american U.S. Marshal Sam Buckhart was introduced in 2 episodes of the popular ABC Western Tv show The Rifleman starring Chuck Connors as Lucas McCain. Law of the Plainsman is identifying and unique in it was one of the very few tv programs which featured a Native American as the lead character, a bold movement for U.S.network tv at that moment. Ansara had earlier emerged from the show Broken Arrow, with portrayed the Apache leader, Cochise. Ansara was not Native American but of descent. Ansara played Sam Buckhart, an Apache Indian who saved the lifetime of a U.S. Cavalry officer after a Indian ambush. He abandoned Sam money which was used for an instruction at Harvard University and schools, After the officer died. Afterschool, he returned to New Mexico where he became a Deputy Marshal employed by Marshal Andy Morrison. He lived in a boarding house run by Martha Commager. The real other continuing part was 8-year old Tess Logan. Robert Harland The Corruptors! Starred as Deputy Billy Lordan in seven incidents. Wayne Rogers, who moved onto star in later, Stagecoach West, and the following four-star western, M * A * S * H, also played deputy Lordan in several episodes.
