Journey to the West

Journey to the West is just a Hong Kong tv show adapted by the novel of the same name. Starring Kwong Wah, Dicky Cheung, Wayne Lai and Evergreen Mak, the series was first produced by TVB and was broadcast on TVB Jade in Hongkong in November 1996. A sequel, Journey to the West II, was broadcast in 1998, but Benny Chan played the role of the Monkey King due to contract problems involving TVB and Dicky Cheung. Cheung later reprised the role in the following tv series The Monkey King: Quest for the Sutra, which has been broadcast on TVB however, perhaps maybe not produced by the station.
