Heart of a Samurai

Tenchijin may be your NHK Taiga drama. It airs every Sunday. The story focuses around the life span of the 16th century samurai Naoe Kanetsugu. Production began on April 27, 2007. The story was adapted for screen with script-writer Eriko Komatsu and is based on the novel Tenchijin by Masashi Hisaka. The series' music composer was Michiru Oshima. The protagonist of the play, Naoe Kanetsugu, was taught by Uesugi Kenshin in his youth it to conquer the world is a thing, however, what matters is to live the lifetime with righteousness. After the death of Uesugi, Naoe supports Uesugi Kagekatsu, that holds the destiny of Echigo province.
