The show had a view of America than many series of these times. The settlers have been dressed in clothes for the very long winters and rough. The Americans were sensibly depicted also, as an intelligent people with good and bad individuals among them. Fights in the picture needed a lot more than only the odd blow whilst the opponents torture, and hit hard at one another had been found in many of episodes. Weapons were tomahawks and shot rifles. As they certainly were the money of the northern settlements furs were frequently a motive of crime.
