Girls On Top

Girls is a British sitcom that has been shown on ITV from 1985 to 1986. It starred French & Saunders, Ruby Wax and Tracey Ullman, also has been composed by French, Saunders and Wax from Tracey Ullman with material. Despite a minimal budget and also poor critical reception, the show has been a ratings success. It was created for the ITV system by Central Independent Television. The series focused on their landlady and four female flat mates. The characters were stereotypes with thickness and the comedy focused on conflicts from their own characters. This was an attempt at a form of the youths, of which were made in 1982 and 1984, two series. Jennifer Saunders and dawn French had both appeared onto it like most of its own stars, were members of this comic-strip group. Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford from the British band Squeeze wrote and performed the theme tune.
