The script-writer was Ernst Hinterberger. The show was founded on his 1966 Das Salz der Erde. The manufacturer was Hans Preiner, who initiated the project in his chain Impulse, which based on training of young managers along with development of new app formats.
Ein echter Wiener geht nicht unter starred popular literary celebrity Karl Merkatz because the major character, Edmund"Mundl" Sackbauer. Mundl lives at the 10th district of Vienna. The show used Viennese dialect and eventually became successful after a first effort against this by the Krone newspaper as too"common."
