Disco
Disco was a music program which aired from 1971 to 1982 to the ZDF network in Germany. It generally aired at 7:30 PM on the first Saturday of each month, each show running 45 minutes. 133 shows were produced. The show was hosted by actor and comedian Ilja Richter. Its lesser known predecessor on ZDF, 4-3-2-1 Hot & Sweet has been aired between 1966 and 1970, presenters included Ilja Richter along with Suzanne Doucet. As a younger audience that was pop-oriented was functioned by disco compared to ZDF's Hitparade, also until 1972, its primary competitor was Beat-Club, accompanied closely by Musikladen, both on ARD.
Repeats of Disco have been aired since 1984 as a result of its close down in 1989, on ZDF Musikkanal on 3sat. Since 2004, the ZDF Theaterkanal aired repeats of the entire series. Back in 2007, ZDF Dokukanal began to broadcast reruns, starting with episodes from 1975 and also multiple repeats of this show have been shown from 2008 on hit24.
The show focussed at time of broadcasting current on graph hits, giving about air time to German Schlager along with pop music. Although it featured disco strikes provided that these were graph relevant despite its name, it did not specially concentrate on disco music. .
