Danger UXB
Danger UXB is a 1979 British ITV television Show about World War II starring Anthony Andrews as Lieutenant Brian Ash, an officer at the Royal Engineers and Manufactured by John Hawkesworth.
The show chronicles the exploits of the fictional 9-7 Tunnelling Company which as a result of a large number of unexploded bombs in London during the Blitz was made a bomb disposal unit. Just like of his fellow officers, Ash must through experience faced by cunning and more deadly progress in aerial bomb learn the techniques and procedures of disarming and ruining the UXBs typically. The show primarily featured military narrative traces, with a thread featuring a inventor daughter, Susan Mount, together with whom Ash falls in love, and individual interest vignettes.
The programme was titled and partly based on the memoirs of Big A. B. Hartley,'' M.B.E, RE, Unexploded Bomb - The Story of Bomb-disposal, together with episodes composed by Hawkesworth and 4 screenwriters. The show was filmed in 1978 in and round the Tooting, Streatham and Clapham areas.
The programme appeared on the U.S. PBS as a section of Master Piece Theatre in January 4 to April 5, 1981. It was also screened around the broadcaster in Australia ABC Television.
