Area 88

Area 88 is a manga series by Kaoru Shintani serialized between 1979 and 1986. The story is all about a new pilot named his adventures along with Shin Kazama at Area 88, a mercenary air force base secluded in a wartorn country's town. Shin goes from mind of his class at a world aviation faculty the gorgeous daughter of an air line president to some stunt fighter pilot bound by a contract he was duped into registering with a jealous and aggressive childhood buddy. Determined to get $1.5 million to get his way out of this obligation and come home, killing becomes second nature to Shin as he immediately rises to the best position at Area 88. For whatever he's become Over-wrought, Shin begins to wonder whether he is still fighting for the enthusiasm and camaraderie of conflict, or even like his mercenaries, for survival. Area 88 was to be interpreted in to English and released in the united states. It's been adapted into a theatrical film, two arcade show, the first an OVA originally released in 1985 and the brand new, a 12-episode anime television show, which premiered across Japan online arcade television network Animax at 2005, and a game, released in North America as U.N. Squadron. It is also a brand of model aircraft in Japan. It has been acclaimed for the character development and Shintani's bothering story telling, blending humor, tragedy, romance, and action while it appeals to aviation fans due to the realistic depictions of aircraft and aerial combat. In 1985, the manga received the Shogakukan Manga Award for sh?nen.
