A Bit of Fry & Laurie is a British sketch comedy tv series published by and starring former Cambridge Footlights associates Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, broadcast both BBC1 and BBC2 between 1989 and 1995. It totalled 26 episodes and ran for four series , for example a pilot episode in 1987. As in the 2 Ronnies, innuendo and elaborate word play were staples of its own material. The fourth wall usually struck. Characters would revert into their real life actors mid-sketch, or the camera could frequently pan off in to the studio. Moreover, the show was punctuated with nonsequitur vox pops in a manner that was similar to people who Monty Python's Flying Circus, often making statements , heavily centered on word play. Laurie was seen playing an extensive variety of instruments and with piano and singing comical numbers.
