Alessandro, an aimless young troublemaker, squanders his days gaming and getting in to fights, and he spends his nights in jail. As a companion to Giorgio, he begrudgingly takes work with prospects, an elderly poet suffering from Alzheimer's. The two banter and get friends, and Alessandro quickly learns about it poet because the older man's memory drifts. After learning a mystery out of the past of Giorgio, Alessandro and his pals work to discover the puzzle of this tale, an urgent history lesson and also a touching coming-of-age adventure.
